Important nutrition and natural medicine teachers to me are:

Jonathan Wright, MD and Alan Gaby, MD
Drs. Wright and Gaby have written several excellent books. Dr. Wright's monthly newsletter, Nutrition & Healing, 410-223-2611, is an elegant resource for special patients and holistic practitioners. They also offer a very practical and informative annual seminar for practitioners, Nutritional Therapy in Medical Practice, 253-850-5639. In my opinion, it is one of the best initial continuing education course for a mainstream practitioner to take who wants to transition into holistic medicine. Dr. Wright's scholarship is the core of many of my Patient Information Briefs.

 Jeffrey S. Bland, PhD

Dr. Bland is a stellar teacher and a biochemist specializing in nutritional and preventive medicine. He is the founder of HealthComm, an educational organization dedicated to the development and practice of functional medicine and nutrition, www.healthcomm.com. In my opinion, his monthly educational audio tape series is a must for any holistic physician, Functional Medicine Update, 800-843-9660.

Andrew Weil, MD

Dr. Weil's text, Natural Health, Natural Medicine, is the text which I recommend to patients who ask for a first aid book for their home. He also has a very interesting and informative web site, . He offers several workshops through out the country which are listed in his monthly newsletter, Self Healing, 800-523-3296.  For physicians who want to integrate the best of conventional and alternative medicine as a Fellow in an academic environment, Dr. Weil is Director of a "gold standard" Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, fax 520-626-6484.

Sidney Baker, MD and Leo Galland, MD

Each of these physicians is "a doctor's doctor", or the type of physician each of us would like to be when we grow up. They are gifted scholars, clinicians and teachers. Their most recent books are listed in the reference literature section. They are frequent presenters at the continuing medical education organization meetings listed in the professional background section.

Deepak Chopra, MD and Vasant Lad, MD

I am not an orthodox Ayurveda physician, however I do carry deep regards and gratitude for Ayurveda medicine's long and continuing tradition. Ayurveda has always been holistic. Dr. Chopra, 888-424-6772, and Dr. Lad, 408-847-0406, each offer professional workshops for health practitioners.

Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD

For experienced holistic practitioners, Dr. Klinghardt teaches the most advanced and elegant health and healing systems now available, in my opinion; Neural Therapy Workshops, 206-749-9967, or www.neuraltherapy.com.
